Tyson Fury Has Promised Me A Third Fight; He Owes It To Me

If Dereck Chisora were to knock off Oleksandr Usyk, an Anthony Joshua-Chisora clash could become a big event in the United Kingdom. Joshua isn’t the heavyweight champion Chisora wants to fight, though. London’s Chisora would prefer to challenge Tyson Fury for his WBC title, if Fury retains that belt long enough for Chisora to get a shot at it.

London’s Chisora would prefer to challenge Tyson Fury for his WBC title, if Fury retains that belt long enough for Chisora to get a shot at it. Fury has beaten Chisora twice, first by unanimous decision and then by technical knockout. Chisora believes, however, that upsetting Usyk would warrant a third fight against Fury. Tyson is unbelievable – the only man who doesn’t have a defeat on his record,” Chisora said. “It would be a great fight with ‘The Gypsy King’ because he has always promised me a third fight. He owes it to me. We speak every day. He always says he wants to give me that fight. Fury first must get through his third fight against Alabama’s Deontay Wilder, whom Fury beat by seventh-round technical knockout to win the WBC belt February 22 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The targeted date/site for Fury-Wilder III is December 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, the new home of the NFL’s Raiders. The 36-year-old Chisora is in camp for his rescheduled bout with Usyk, the former undisputed cruiserweight champion. Usyk-Chisora has been reset for October 31 at a venue to be announced. Ukraine’s Usyk and Zimbabwe’s Chisora were supposed to meet May 23 at O2 Arena in London, but that event was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
